Description

This Private Cask is a 12 year old from 2006, Kilchoman's first full year of production, matured in Oloroso sherry. Drawn from cask 335, it gave 203 bottles. Kilchoman, founded by Anthony Wills in 2005, is Islay's only farm distillery.

The distillery malts barley on site and bottles on the farm, a barley to bottle approach. Matured in a single Oloroso cask, the sherry wood wraps the young peated spirit in dark fruit.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 55.3%. From the Oloroso come dried fruit and a fig-and-raisin depth, while peat phenols bring the smoke. A scarce single cask from the distillery's earliest spirit.
