Description

This Private Cask Release is an 11 year old from 2007, matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask. Cask 151 gave 236 bottles for Germany. Founded by Anthony Wills in 2005 at Rockside Farm, Kilchoman is the only farm distillery on Islay.

The distillery malts its own barley and bottles on the farm, a barley to bottle approach. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask, the wood frames the young peated spirit.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 55.6%. The cask gives vanilla and citrus, and peat phenols carry the smoke through. The recorded notes run to citrus, a coal-gas edge, a green leafy lift, smoke and a yeasty note. An early single cask Kilchoman.
