Description

This Port Cask Matured is a 4 year old from 2014, fully matured in Port wine casks. An outturn of 10,000 bottles. Kilchoman is Islay's only farm distillery, the first new distillery on the island in over 124 years when Anthony Wills founded it in 2005.

Malting, distilling and bottling all happen on the farm, the barley to bottle way. Matured in Port casks, the wine wood adds plum and cherry to the young peated spirit.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 50%. The Port gives plum and cherry with a jammy sweetness while peat phenols carry the smoke. The recorded notes run to chocolate, cooked fruit, dried fruit, a sherried character, vanilla and honey. A young Port-matured farm malt.
