Description

This Feis Ile 2016 Release was Kilchoman's bottling for the Islay festival that year, an 8 year old Oloroso single cask from 2007, cask 429. An outturn of 634 bottles. Kilchoman, the island's only farm distillery, was founded by Anthony Wills in 2005.

Kilchoman malts its barley on site and bottles on the farm, a barley to bottle approach rare in Scotch. Matured in a single Oloroso cask over eight years, the sherry wood wraps the peated spirit in dark fruit.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 56.6%. The Oloroso lends fig and raisin through its melanoidins, the peat phenols a smoky layer. A festival sherried single cask.
