Kilchoman Am Bùrach

Am Bùrach is a Port-matured Kilchoman, the Gaelic name meaning roughly a mess or muddle. An outturn of 10,550 bottles. Set up by Anthony Wills in 2005, Kilchoman remains Islay's only farm distillery.

Kilchoman handles malting through bottling on its own Islay farm. Matured in Port casks, the wine wood adds plum and dark fruit to the peated spirit.

Bottled at 46%. The Port gives plum and cherry with a jammy sweetness while peat phenols carry the smoke. The recorded notes run to dried fruit, a sherried character, smoke, tobacco, leather and an oily texture. A Port-matured farm malt.
