Description

The 100% Islay 11th Edition is Kilchoman's own-barley single malt at nine years old, from 2007, matured in ex-Bourbon and Oloroso. The founding range of the distillery, grown and made entirely on its Islay farm. An outturn of 12,000 bottles. Kilchoman, founded by Anthony Wills in 2005, is the only farm distillery on Islay.

Grown, malted, distilled and bottled at Rockside Farm, this is barley to bottle in full. The own-grown barley is lightly peated and matured in ex-Bourbon and Oloroso casks.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 50%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla, the Oloroso dried fruit, while gentle peat phenols carry the smoke. The recorded notes run to smoke, an oily texture, a rubbery note, citrus, chocolate and fresh fruit. The 2007 farm vintage at nine years.
