Kilchoman 5 Years Old 2017 Cask #268/2017 (LMDW)

La Maison du Whisky bottled this 5 year old 2017 Kilchoman for its Antipodes range, from a Cognac cask, number 268. An outturn of 368 bottles for France. Kilchoman, founded by Anthony Wills in 2005, is Islay's only farm distillery.

At Rockside Farm the whole process runs from barley to bottle on one site. Matured in a single Cognac cask, the wood adds a grape-led sweetness to the young peated spirit.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 58.4%. The Cognac gives a grape sweetness and dried apricot while peat phenols carry the smoke. The recorded notes run to citrus, a coal-gas edge, cooked fruit, a fragrant lift, honey and a kippered note. A young Cognac single cask from a French specialist.
