Description

The 100% Islay range is Kilchoman's founding idea, single malt made entirely from barley grown, malted, distilled, matured and bottled on the one Islay farm. This 2nd Edition, just three years old, comes from the distillery's earliest years after Anthony Wills opened it in 2005.

Every step happens at Rockside Farm, a true barley to bottle whisky and the only one of its kind on Islay. Own-grown barley is lightly peated, lower than the standard Kilchoman, and matured in ex-Bourbon casks.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 50%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla and citrus while gentle peat phenols carry the smoke. The recorded note is citrus, bright over young, farm-grown spirit. A early statement of the 100% Islay philosophy.
