Description

This 100% Islay Cask Vatting is a five year old from 2011, made entirely from Kilchoman's own Islay barley and vatted from three Oloroso casks. An outturn of 774 bottles for the UK. Kilchoman is the only farm distillery on Islay, founded by Anthony Wills in 2005.

Grown, malted, distilled and bottled at Rockside Farm, a barley to bottle whisky. The own-grown barley is lightly peated and matured in Oloroso casks.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 57.1%. The Oloroso gives dried fruit, melanoidins reading as fig and raisin, while gentle peat phenols carry the smoke. A sherried small vatting of the young farm single malt.
