Kilchoman 100% Islay 13 Years Old 2012

This 13 Years Old 100% Islay is among the older farm single malts, from 2012, made entirely from Kilchoman's own Islay barley and matured in Oloroso. The 100% Islay range is the distillery's founding philosophy. An outturn of 1,315 bottles for Germany.

Grown, malted, distilled and bottled at Rockside Farm, this is barley to bottle in full. The own-grown barley is lightly peated and matured in Oloroso casks across thirteen years.

Bottled at its natural cask strength of 54.5%. The Oloroso gives dried fruit, melanoidins reading as fig and raisin, while gentle peat phenols carry the smoke. The recorded notes run to a coal-gas edge, dried fruit, a sherried character, smoke, leather and malt sweetness. An older sherried farm vintage.
