Description
Kilbeggan Triple Cask, released in 2022 for the European market, builds the standard Cooley blend into something plusher by marrying whiskey from three types of wood. The label belongs to the restored 1757 Kilbeggan distillery in Co. Westmeath, while the spirit itself comes from Cooley in Co. Louth.
Ex-bourbon barrels supply vanilla and fresh orchard fruit, Pedro Ximénez sherry casks fold in dried fruit and dark chocolate, and American oak adds structure and spice. Bottled at 43%, it shows citrus, malt extract and a fragrant, raisined sweetness that sets it a clear step above the entry blend, the extra strength holding the cask flavours together through a warming finish.
