Isle of Jura Madeira Malvasia Cask

The Madeira Malvasia Cask is the fourth in Isle of Jura's Islanders' Expressions collection, the island malt finished in Madeira wood made from the Malvasia grape. Jura makes its malt at the island's sole distillery, rebuilt in 1963 to a deliberately light, Highland style.

The distillery's clean make takes a fortified wine finish cleanly. Finished in Madeira casks, the wood brings a candied, sweet character to the honeyed malt.

Bottled at 40%. The Madeira cask gives candied citrus and a faint tang of burnt sugar from its heated maturation over the malt's honeyed core. Sweet and gently rich, a Madeira-finished island malt from the Islanders' Expressions line.
