The bottler Maltbarn bottled this Glen Moray, a 21 year old, distilled in 2003, bottled at 53%. Glen Moray is a Speyside single malt known for vanilla, honey and orchard fruit. Most of its malt matures first in American oak ex-Bourbon before any cask finish.

The spirit was distilled light and fruity in the Glen Moray style, building the fresh Glen Moray style. Most Glen Moray begins in American oak ex-Bourbon, the base for its cask finishes. Into oxidative maturity, slow air ingress builds fruity ethyl esters (apple and pear) and a honeyed depth. The clean, fruity spirit shows the cask clearly, vanilla and fruit to the fore. The light spirit suits a wide range of cask finishes, from sherry to rum. The light, fruity make takes cask flavour well while keeping its apple and pear. Its light, fresh spirit suits a wide range of cask finishes, from sherry to rum.

Bottled at a cask strength 53%, it is rich. Baked apple, vanilla and a creamy toffee, with a soft vanilla from the oak. Soft orchard fruit and a creamy vanilla sit behind the cask. The finish is rounded, fruity and clean. This is a fresh, fruity Speyside single malt.
