This Glen Moray was bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society, a 20 year old, distilled in 1995, from cask 35.164, bottled at 51.5%, one of 102 bottles. Glen Moray is a light, easy Speyside single malt with a long line of cask finishes. Glen Moray has long made an accessible, fruity Speyside in the classic style.

It was distilled light and fruity in the Glen Moray style, for a clean make of orchard fruit and a soft honey. Ex-Bourbon casks held it, the gentle American oak letting the light fruit lead. Through oxidative maturity esters concentrate, the apple turning honeyed and a soft dried fruit creeping in. A pioneer of wine cask finishing, Glen Moray has long layered fruit over its light malt. The accessible, fruity make is the base for the distillery's many cask finishes. Its light, fresh spirit suits a wide range of cask finishes, from sherry to rum.

At a natural 51.5% it is full and fruity. Pear, honey and a soft malt, with a soft vanilla from the oak. The texture is light and clean, the fruit lifted by vanilla. The finish runs light, fruity and clean. This is Glen Moray's clean, accessible Speyside style.
