This Glen Moray was bottled by the Huntly bottler Duncan Taylor, a 20 year old, distilled in 1991, from cask 703793, bottled at 54%, one of 69 bottles. Glen Moray, founded in 1897 in a former brewery, is one of Speyside's best loved malts. It has been owned since 2008 by the French house La Martiniquaise.

Worked through the stills for a light, sweet make, for a clean make of orchard fruit and a soft honey. It rested in ex-Bourbon oak, oak lactones lending vanilla and a little coconut. Through oxidative maturity esters concentrate, the apple turning honeyed and a soft dried fruit creeping in. A gentle maturation suits the light make, the orchard fruit growing richer with time. Maturation in the bonded warehouses at Elgin is slow and steady. The accessible, fruity make is the base for the distillery's many cask finishes. Its make is a key malt in the Cutty Sark and Label 5 blends.

Bottled at a cask strength 54%, it is rich. A clean, fruity sweetness, with a soft vanilla from the oak. A soft fruit and a gentle oak give it depth. It finishes light, fresh and fruity. This is a light Speyside malt from the banks of the Lossie.
