A 14 year old Glen Moray from the bottler Liquid Treasures, distilled in 2008, bottled at 57.5%. Glen Moray is a Speyside single malt from La Martiniquaise, light and approachable in style. Most of its malt matures first in American oak ex-Bourbon before any cask finish.

The spirit was run through the stills on River Lossie water for a light make, building a light, accessible character of orchard fruit and vanilla. Most Glen Moray begins in American oak ex-Bourbon, the base for its cask finishes. Integration folds eugenol (clove) and vanillin (vanilla) into the malt, the body softer and the fruit riper. The light spirit suits a wide range of cask finishes, from sherry to rum. It is known for excellent value, with age statements priced more keenly than most. It has been owned since 2008 by the French house La Martiniquaise. Long ageing turns the fresh apple towards dried fruit, honey and a soft spice.

At 57.5%, undiluted, it is deep and fruity. A light, orchard fruit and toffee, with a soft vanilla from the oak. Beneath it run green apple, pear and a soft vanilla. Apple, pear and a soft oak see out the finish. This is the easy, fruity malt of Elgin.
