Description
Ferrari, the Lunelli family's house in Trentino, is Italy's benchmark traditional-method producer, and this Brut is the classic that anchors the range. It is made mostly from mountain-grown Chardonnay, with a small amount of Pinot Nero, in the cool foothills of the Alps. The wine is produced by the traditional method, refermented in bottle and aged on the lees, which gives its fine bead and gentle toasted background, while the brut dosage keeps it crisp and dry.
The wine is a bright straw yellow with a very fine, persistent bead. The nose shows apple, white peach and citrus over white flowers and a light toasted note, while the palate is fresh and elegant with clean Alpine acidity and a long finish. Serve at 8 to 10 degrees in a white wine glass. It is a versatile aperitif and pairs with shellfish, white fish, poultry and hard, nutty cheese.
