The Whisky Jury drew this 24 Years Old single malt from Cooley stock distilled in 2001, bottling cask 2659 for France in 2025 at 149 bottles. Cooley in Co. Louth, founded by John Teeling in 1987, double distills its malt in the Scottish manner, and its oldest casks have become quiet favourites among independent bottlers.

Twenty four years in ex-bourbon wood shaped a whiskey of honeyed malt, ripe pear and lemon oil, with coconut and soft vanilla from the American oak and a late build of gentle spice. Bottled at its natural strength of 50.4%, the age shows in texture rather than heaviness, long, waxy and quietly complex. Unpeated Cooley at full maturity, presented without dilution or dressing up.
