Description
An individual cask of Cooley single malt bottled in 2015 for Cadenhead's World Whiskies series and destined for Belgium. At 23 Years Old the spirit reaches back to Cooley's early years, when John Teeling's Co. Louth distillery was still establishing itself as the independent alternative in Irish whiskey.
The ex-bourbon barrel gave 192 bottles at a full cask strength 55%. The profile is old Cooley to its bones, oily and fragrant with husky cereal, a flinty coal gas edge and a firm line of oak beneath, the kind of muscular, unpolished malt that made these casks sought after among independent bottling collectors.
