German independent La Famiglia Nostra drew this Cooley from a single Port cask, number 144996, filled in 2002 and bottled in 2024 at 22 Years Old. Just 45 bottles exist, a genuinely tiny outturn, and unusually this is full term Port maturation rather than a short finishing spell.
Twenty two years in Port wood soak the double distilled Co. Louth malt in red and dried fruit, dark chocolate and winey oak, and the cask strength 51.2% delivers it without dilution. Beneath the wine sits Cooley's honeyed orchard fruit in the house style, here playing bass to the cask's deep vinous lead.
