Chichibu Single Cask #2409, 2410 5 Years Old 2013 (Ex-Bourbon)

Chichibu distillery in Saitama occasionally bottles twin casks together rather than releasing each separately, and this 2013 vintage pairs casks 2409 and 2410, both Ex-Bourbon barrels, into a single Japanese domestic bottling. The release reflects Ichiro Akuto's willingness to explore different formats within the single-cask philosophy, combining two closely matched vessels without dilution.

At five years of age and 63.3% ABV, the spirit is young and assertive, carrying the full weight of Chichibu's characteristically vivid new make: fresh tropical and orchard fruit, vanilla and barley sweetness from the bourbon seasoning, and the bright, clean finish that has defined the distillery's output since its first releases. The Japanese domestic market allocation places this release in the context of Chichibu's home audience, for whom the energy and directness of young cask-strength spirit is a point of attraction rather than a barrier.
