Description

The 2019 On The Way is a NAS global cask strength release from Chichibu in Saitama, bottled at 51.5% and drawing on both Ex-Bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks for its maturation base. The On The Way series has been the distillery's primary vehicle for annual cask strength bottlings assembled from across the programme.

The recorded flavour data reflects the dual-cask foundation: dried fruit and oiliness from the Oloroso side sit alongside fresh fruit, malt extract and yeasty warmth from the Ex-Bourbon wood, with an overall profile that is generous and layered. The oiliness is a consistent outcome when Oloroso and bourbon wood are combined at Chichibu, and the malt extract note anchors the profile in the distillery's house character. The 2019 vintage is among the more complex On The Way editions in the series.
