Description

The 2021 Chichibu London Edition was released for the European market at 51.5% cask strength, continuing the distillery's annual run of named-market bottlings from the Saitama facility that Venture Whisky founded in 2008. Maturation is across Ex-Bourbon casks in the house programme.

The recorded flavour data for this edition includes coal-gas, citrus, fresh fruit and medicinal notes, a profile that suggests some peated spirit or a particularly active cask. Chichibu does include peated new make in parts of its programme, and the coal-gas note is consistent with that. The medicinal character alongside the citrus creates a more complex, slightly austere profile compared to the sweeter Ex-Bourbon editions in the same series.
