Chichibu 7 Years Old 2009 Cask #633 (TWE)

Cask number 633, distilled at Chichibu in Saitama in 2009 and bottled seven years later, was selected and released by The Whisky Exchange as an event bottling in 2016. Chichibu under Ichiro Akuto and Venture Whisky built its early international reputation partly through retailer and event-specific single casks, and this TWE selection sits within that programme.

Seven years in Ex-Bourbon wood brings the vanilla, toasted coconut and ripe orchard-fruit character typical of Chichibu at this age, with the American oak adding structure without softening the distillery's natural brightness. Bottled at 61.4% cask strength with no dilution, the spirit retains its full texture and the lightly spiced finish that American oak encourages in Japanese-climate maturation.
