Description

Chichibu's partnership with the French specialist La Maison du Whisky has produced a series of single cask event releases over the years, and this 2014 vintage bottling is one of them. Cask #3531 was distilled at the Saitama distillery in 2014, spent six years in Ex-Bourbon wood and was bottled in 2020 at 65.2% for an event release.

At 65.2% this is one of the more intensely concentrated Chichibu Ex-Bourbon single casks, and the wood influence at this strength means the vanilla and toasted grain from the bourbon barrel are front and centre alongside the house's orchard fruit and gentle cereal sweetness. Water is recommended to reveal the full aromatic range. As a specialist retailer selection, it represents a carefully chosen single cask from one of Japan's most sought-after craft producers.
