Description
Bottega bottles this spumante under the Venezia DOC, drawing on Glera from the Veneto plain around the family's base at Bibano di Godega. It is produced by the Charmat method, with the second fermentation held in pressurised tank so the fruit stays fresh and primary. The Brut dosage keeps the wine dry, and the mirrored bottle is Bottega's signature presentation for the WHITE GOLD line.
The wine is pale straw with a fine, persistent bead. The nose offers green apple, pear and white peach, lifted by white flowers and a touch of elderflower. The palate is light bodied and crisp, with fresh citrus acidity and a clean, dry finish. Serve well chilled at 6 to 8 degrees in a tulip glass, as an aperitif or with shellfish, white fish and light starters.
