Bottega make this Prosecco DOC Rosé from Glera fleshed out with Pinot Nero, as the rosé rules require, the second grape giving the colour and a little more structure. Fermentation is controlled in pressurised tank by the Charmat method, which preserves the fresh fruit and sets a fine, lively bead, and the Brut dosage keeps the style dry and precise. At 11.5 per cent alcohol the wine stays light footed while holding clear expression, and it arrives in Bottega's distinctive metallic pink bottle.
The wine is a delicate rosé with a fine, lively perlage. The nose is fruity and elegant, with red berries and a fresh tone. The palate is balanced and fresh, with a harmonious structure and a fine fruity flavour, closing clear, dry and long. Serve well chilled at 6 to 8 degrees in a tulip glass. A stylish aperitif that suits light starters, antipasti, seafood and fine fish.
