Description
Bottega makes this Millesimato Spumante Brut in Italy as a fresh, single-vintage sparkling wine blending Glera with Chardonnay and Pinot. It is produced by the tank method, where the second fermentation takes place in pressurised vessels to build a fine, steady bead while preserving the primary fruit and floral aromatics of the grapes. At 11 per cent it is deliberately light and modern, finished as a Brut so it stays dry and versatile whether poured on its own or with food.
The wine shows light straw yellow with a fine, lively perlage. The nose is fresh and fruity, with green apple, citrus and subtle floral nuances. The palate is bright and cleanly structured, closing clean, balanced and gently long. Serve well chilled at 6 to 8 degrees in a white wine glass. It works as an aperitif and alongside antipasti, prosciutto, prawns and grilled fish, as well as light pasta and fresh cheese.
