Bottega is a Veneto house known for its metallic-finished bottles and its Glera-based sparkling wine from the Prosecco heartland. Made by the tank method, the wine takes its second fermentation in pressure tanks, a choice that keeps Glera's orchard fruit and floral character fresh and immediate rather than building bready depth. The Extra Dry dosage leaves a gentle fruit sweetness that suits the grape. This gift set pairs two small format bottles for an aperitif or a light celebration.
The wine is a pale straw yellow with a fine, lively bead. The nose leads with apple, pear and white peach over acacia blossom and honeysuckle. The palate is fresh and softly fruited, the mousse fine, with citrus keeping it lively into a clean finish. Serve well chilled at 6 to 8 degrees in a white wine glass. It works as an aperitif and alongside light salads, white fish and shellfish, and lends itself to a sparkling cocktail.
