Description
Bepin De Eto is a family winery in the Veneto, and this Superiore comes from the steep hills of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG, among the finest sites for Glera. It is a Millesimato from a single vintage, made in the tank method with second fermentation in pressurised tanks. That method keeps the orchard and floral aromatics fresh and gives the fine, lively perlage that marks a good Superiore. Finished Brut, it sits on the drier side, the fruit balanced by a clean line of acidity, and at 11.5 per cent it stays light and food-friendly.
The colour is pale straw with fine greenish reflections and a persistent bead. The nose is fresh, with green apple and pear over delicate blossom and subtle citrus. The palate is lively and balanced, fruity freshness meeting a harmonious structure, the finish clear and long. Serve well chilled at 6 to 8 degrees in a white wine glass. It makes an aperitif and pairs with antipasti, mild goat cheese, prosciutto with melon, seafood and light fish.
