Aberlour A’Bunadh Batch 78 is a bold, cask-strength (60.7% ABV) single malt from Speyside, matured exclusively in Spanish Oloroso sherry butts. Uncoloured and non-chill filtered, it delivers rich flavours of dried fruit, dark chocolate, spice, and warm oak, a deep, sherried dram that stays true to its original roots.

Description
Aberlour A’Bunadh Batch 78 is part of the distillery’s long-running tribute to its old-style, full-strength whisky, bottled at a hefty 60.7% straight from Spanish Oloroso sherry butts with no chill filtration or added colour. It opens with intense sherry, orange peel, spice and dark chocolate, before moving into a rich, creamy palate layered with black cherries, dried fruit, ginger and bittersweet cocoa, finishing long with warm spice and dry oak. The A’Bunadh style reflects the character of Aberlour itself, a Speyside distillery founded in 1879 by James Fleming in the village where the Lour Burn meets the River Spey. Fleming funded local landmarks and secured the water supply that continues to feed the distillery’s stills. Now operated by Chivas Brothers, Aberlour is known for sherry-forward whiskies drawn from local spring water near Ben Rinnes, and while the wider range often uses dual cask maturation, A’Bunadh remains a purist’s expression: 100 percent Oloroso butts.
