Description
Aberlour Casg Annamh is built from a blend of carefully selected Spanish oak Oloroso butts and two types of American oak, giving it a layered maturity that balances sweetness, fruit, and spice. The nose is rich with tangy orange, glazed cherries and a hint of ginger; on the palate, expect soft apples and peaches, warming cinnamon and a touch of spicy liquorice; the finish lingers smoothly with gentle spice. It’s considered a very good entry point into Aberlour’s sherried whiskies. Aberlou, founded in 1879 in Speyside, draws water from nearby springs and consistently leans into oak and sherry cask maturation. This expression offers a taste of Aberlour’s sherry-cask expertise without going full cask strength, making it accessible yet characterful.
