Purity Signature 34 Edition Organic Vodka

Purity is distilled at Ellinge Castle in southern Sweden, and the 34 in the name is the heart of the story: the spirit goes through 34 distillation runs in a single 17-hour process, passing through stills built from copper and gold combined with stainless steel. So many passes would normally strip a spirit bare, but the copper contact and careful cuts leave just enough character behind, which is why Purity reads as silky rather than empty. It is made from organically grown wheat and barley with spring water from southern Sweden, hand-produced in small batches at 40%, and carries organic certification.

The nose is clean, fresh and elegant with fine cereal and a hint of minerality, the palate silky and smooth with subtle grain, a light sweetness and a whisper of white pepper, and the finish long, smooth and fresh. A spirit this refined deserves a precise serve, so make a Gimlet: stir or shake it cold with a good measure of lime cordial, strain into a chilled glass and twist a lime peel over the top. The cordial's sweet-sharp citrus sets off the white pepper, and the vodka's silky body keeps the drink elegant rather than sharp.
