Petovia Tavžentroža Grenki Liker

Petovia Tavžentroža Grenki Liker is a herbal liqueur from the Petovia range, made at Ptujska klet in Ptuj, Slovenia, and named for centaury flowers. It draws the fine flavour of centaury into a careful blend of herbs, leaning floral rather than heavily bitter, and is bottled at 25% by volume in a 1 litre bottle. The producer ties it to the revival of a Slovenian cocktail in which it plays a central part.

The nose shows floral nuances, fine herbal notes and a hint of citrus, the palate balanced, floral and slightly sweet with pleasant herbs, closing long, floral and fresh with a subtle spice. In a drink it adds a delicate floral and herbal lift with a gentle bitterness, a softer way to bring botanical character to a serve. It is excellent on its own and works well in a fresh fizz or long drink that showcases its floral side, pairing with light desserts such as fruit tarts and lemon cake as well as mild cheeses.
