Description
La Liqueur de Monin Apricot Brandy is a fruit liqueur from the French house of Monin, a Bourges firm that supplies syrups and liqueurs across the bar trade. It pairs the natural sweetness of ripe apricot with the rounder character of brandy, bottled at 20% in the 700ml format. As with most fruit liqueurs, the apricot is carried on a balanced base in the traditional macerated style, the fruit kept forward and clean.
The nose opens on ripe apricot with light vanilla and a hint of oak, the palate fruity and sweet with juicy stone fruit, mild brandy warmth and gentle spice, closing medium long and soft. Behind the bar it adds stone fruit sweetness and a little weight, the reason it carries an Apricot Brandy Sour and slots neatly into a Mai Tai or a Paradise. A measure also lifts a glass of sparkling wine, and it works as a flavouring for sorbets and fruit compotes.
