Nork Eierlikor comes from NORK, founded in 2016 by the siblings Ann-Katrin and Johann Dallmeyer with the aim of bringing Korn, German grain spirit, into a modern context. Known to its makers as EggNork, this homemade egg liqueur started life as a fixture at family Easter celebrations before joining the range, an advocaat style liqueur built on egg yolk and the brand's grain base and bottled at a light 16%. The grain spirit pedigree sets it apart from a standard egg liqueur.
The nose is sweet with vanilla and a fresh orange note, the palate sweet, creamy and fresh with clear vanilla, finishing long on the palate. Behind the bar it works as a custardy body and dessert ingredient, adding richness, vanilla and a citrus lift, which makes it a natural in an egg liqueur sour, a Snowball or a creamy after dinner cocktail, and a partner to spring desserts. Pour it chilled, neat or over ice to show its smooth texture. As an egg based liqueur it is best kept cool once opened and used reasonably fresh.
