Description
Bottega is a family distillery in the Veneto, the grappa house founded at Bibano in 1977 on a vine growing line reaching back to 1635. This limoncello is made from lemons that ripen on the Sorrento peninsula and the island of Capri under the mild Mediterranean breeze, the peel steeped to draw out its aromatic oils into a bright, sweet lemon liqueur bottled at 30%.
The nose is fresh and lemon led, the palate sweet, juicy and full of ripe lemon. As a citrus liqueur it brings sweetness, zesty aromatic lift and acidity balance to a glass. The traditional serve is ice cold and neat as a digestif, but behind the bar it lengthens beautifully into a Limoncello Spritz with prosecco and soda, brightens a citrus sour, and sits well alongside ice cream, fruit salad and sorbet. Keep a bottle in the freezer so it pours thick and cold.
