Description
The same unaged 1800 blanco from Jose Cuervo, this edition carries Basquiat's Eggs, Quality Meats for the Public 1982 across the 2014 Artists Series glass, one of six original designs the series brought to the line. The spirit is a 100% Blue Weber tequila produced at La Rojena in the town of Tequila, twice distilled and bottled without age to keep the agave forward.
Because the agave is steam cooked rather than pit roasted, the profile is cooked agave and citrus with a light pepper edge, not smoke. At 40% it sits as an easygoing lowland style blanco, sweet on entry and clean through the close, equally at home in a margarita or over ice. As with its sibling, the collectible Basquiat bottle is half the story, holding a dependable everyday blanco that wears its art well.
