Taketsuru Fortune’80

Taketsuru Fortune'80 is a blend from Nikka named for the era of its production, combining malt whisky from Yoichi in Hokkaido and Miyagikyo in Miyagi Prefecture with Nikka's Coffey grain spirit. Bottled for the European market in the distinctive 760ml format at 43%, it is a historical expression within the Taketsuru line, reflecting the Nikka blend style of its period.

As a blend with grain spirit included, the Fortune'80 differs from the pure malt Taketsuru expressions, with the Coffey grain adding softness and sweetness alongside the malt character. Ex-Bourbon maturation shapes the base profile. The noted flavour profile carries a distinctively smoky and slightly sulphurous industrial character associated with the production methods of the era, making it a document of its time in Nikka's history.
