Description
Hakushu 12 Years Old is a single malt from Suntory's forest distillery in Yamanashi Prefecture, released here at 43.5% for the Belgian market. A small ABV step from the global bottling, it represents the same core expression from the foot of the Southern Japanese Alps.
Twelve years in Ex-Bourbon casks draw out vanilla and coconut sweetness alongside the distillery's characteristic profile of green apple, cut grass and mint. In the house style, a light greenhouse quality and subtle peat thread carry through to the finish, with the slight uplift in ABV lending a little more presence on the palate.
