Description
Hibiki Japanese Harmony Master's Select is a travel retail release bottled in 2016, sharing the same three-distillery blend of malt from the Yamazaki distillery in Osaka Prefecture and the Hakushu distillery in Yamanashi Prefecture with grain from Chita in Aichi Prefecture. The Master's Select designation indicates a curated selection within the Harmony cask pool, aimed at the duty-free channel.
Matured in Ex-Bourbon casks, the expression shows a somewhat richer profile than the standard Harmony: dried fruit and dark chocolate notes emerge alongside honey and fresh citrus, with a deeper mid-palate warmth. At 43%, the blend is smooth and well-composed, with the honeyed core of the Hibiki range given additional dried-fruit depth that makes it well-suited to its travel retail positioning.
