Named after the Parisian neighbourhood, the Montmartre bottling is part of La Maison du Whisky's location-named 2025 Paris Edition series from Chichibu. The series represents an evolution of the long-running annual collaboration between the French importer and Venture Whisky's Saitama distillery, with each expression in 2025 carrying a distinct name that sets it apart within the vintage.
Matured in Ex-Bourbon casks and bottled at cask strength 50.5% for the French market, the Montmartre is the only 2025 Paris Edition with a recorded flavour note: citrus. That brightness is characteristic of Chichibu's new make and is well preserved by Ex-Bourbon maturation, which adds vanilla and grain sweetness without overriding the distillery's naturally zesty, lively character. Founded by Ichiro Akuto in 2008, Chichibu consistently produces single malt that sits on the lighter, more precise end of the Japanese craft spectrum.
