Description

The 2022 Chichibu London Edition continues the distillery's established European release programme, bottled at 51.5% cask strength from Ex-Bourbon maturation at the Saitama site that Venture Whisky has operated since 2008. Year to year the series reflects the evolving character of each annual cohort of casks.

The single flavour note recorded for the 2022 edition is vegetative, a descriptor that can suggest green, leafy or grass-like character, and one that appears in young Ex-Bourbon spirit before the barrel sweetness fully dominates. It gives the 2022 a slightly more austere profile than some of the fruitier editions in the series, though the distillery's underlying grain-sweet new make remains the foundation beneath the oak and herbal notes.
