Description
Cask #2085 from Chichibu's 2012 vintage was selected by La Maison du Whisky for the French market and bottled in 2019 after seven years in Ex-Bourbon wood. Chichibu, founded in Saitama by Ichiro Akuto under Venture Whisky in 2008, allocates individual barrel numbers to specialist importers and retailers, creating a library of single-cask releases traceable by cask and vintage.
Seven years in Ex-Bourbon oak gives this bottling the vanilla, fresh apple and warm cereal character that is typical of Chichibu at this age. At 61.5% from a single cask the spirit retains full intensity, with no dilution softening the dry wood spice and bright fruit that develop together in the barrel. The French market selection and specific cask number make this a clearly identified single-provenance release.
