Grays Lazy Dodo VSOP is a molasses rum from Mauritius, made by Grays under the Lazy Dodo brand. Mauritius sits outside any agricole AOC, so VSOP here marks the ageing rather than a French-island tier, with six years behind it.
Distilled on a Coffey still, which gives a lighter, cleaner spirit, and aged in ex-bourbon casks, it is bottled at 40%. Coffey-distilled molasses rum of this age typically shows vanilla, light caramel and gentle oak spice over a soft cane base. At this strength it is built as an approachable, easy-drinking island rum. With sweetening unconfirmed on the record, it is best read as smooth rather than claimed fully dry.
