Released under Infinity Spirits' Royal Cane Cask Company line, this is an 18 year old South Pacific Distilleries rum from Fiji, a single pot-still cask bottled unsweetened at a serious 60.2%. Long tropical ageing on a single Fijian cask makes it an oak-driven study for experienced drinkers rather than an easygoing pour.

The nose needs time, opening from a glue-like top note into vanilla, toffee and roasted wood. The palate is dominated by barrel, with milk chocolate, a saline streak and a touch of burnt rubber that fans of the style will recognise as part of Fiji's charm. The finish runs long and woody, with dark chocolate, leather and roasted notes. At cask strength it wants patience and perhaps a little water to settle the alcohol.
