A cask strength Worthy Park from Ferroni, double-matured in Provence sweet-wine casks, with green apple, red fruits and caramelised sweetness leading to banana, milk chocolate and coffee, distilled on the pot still and bottled at 64.1%.
Description
This 5 Year Old Worthy Park, bottled by Maison Ferroni in Marseille, shows the house signature of cask-strength Brut de Fut rum double-matured in Provence in ex-sweet-wine casks. Worthy Park is the St. Catherine estate that distils 100% on its pot still and draws esters from fermentation alone, giving a cleaner, more precise funk, here distilled from molasses in 2016 and reshaped by the wine cask.
The nose leans toward green apple, tropical fruit and a sweet edge, the palate brings caramelised notes, coffee and red fruits, and the finish runs to banana, milk chocolate, coffee and dried fruit. Bottled at 64.1%, the wine-cask influence rounds the estate's bright fruit into something darker and more confected, though the rum itself is dry in the Ferroni style. This is a characterful pour for drinkers who enjoy Worthy Park with a European-cask twist.
