From the bottler Whisky-Doris, a 14 year old Glen Moray, distilled in 2008, bottled at 52.8%, one of 127 bottles. Glen Moray is a fruity Speyside malt made on River Lossie water at Elgin. It has been owned since 2008 by the French house La Martiniquaise.

It was distilled from unpeated malt in copper pot stills, for a clean make of orchard fruit and a soft honey. Maturation came in ex-Bourbon wood, the oak quiet behind the light spirit. By the integrating teens congeners fade and esters build, the light, fruity spirit growing rounder. The accessible, fruity make is the base for the distillery's many cask finishes. It was a pioneer of wine cask finishing, working with Chardonnay casks back in the 1990s. Active wood frames the fruit without overwhelming the light Speyside spirit. River Lossie water and the tall stills give the light Glen Moray make. It was founded in 1897 in the converted Elgin West Brewery, on the banks of the River Lossie.

Bottled at a cask strength 52.8%, it is rich. A fresh, fruity sweetness, with a soft vanilla from the oak. A soft fruit and a gentle oak give it depth. The finish is rounded, fruity and clean. This is Glen Moray's clean, accessible Speyside style.
