A 12 year old Glen Moray from the Scotch Malt Whisky Society, distilled in 2013, from cask 35.407, bottled at 55.6%. Glen Moray is a Speyside single malt from La Martiniquaise, light and approachable in style. Glen Moray has long made an accessible, fruity Speyside in the classic style.

It was distilled light and fruity in the Glen Moray style, giving a clean, sweet Speyside spirit. It was matured in refill ex-Bourbon oak, a soft vanilla beneath the orchard fruit. Through integration spirit and wood marry, vanillin settling into a rounded vanilla as ethyl esters lend a riper apple and pear. Maturation in the bonded warehouses at Elgin is slow and steady. Refill oak lets the light, fruity Glen Moray character lead the way. A pioneer of wine cask finishing, Glen Moray has long layered fruit over its light malt. The light spirit suits a wide range of cask finishes, from sherry to rum.

At a hearty 55.6% it carries real weight. A clean, fruity sweetness, with a soft vanilla from the oak. The mouthfeel is light, the fruit carried on a clean body. The finish runs light, fruity and clean. This is an approachable Speyside single malt from Elgin.
