A 10 year old Glen Moray, a distillery bottling, at 70%. Glen Moray is a Speyside malt from Elgin, the heart of the Cutty Sark and Label 5 blends. It was founded in 1897 in the converted Elgin West Brewery, on the banks of the River Lossie.

The spirit was distilled light and fruity in the Glen Moray style, giving a clean, sweet Speyside spirit. Most Glen Moray begins in American oak ex-Bourbon, the base for its cask finishes. By the integrating teens congeners fade and esters build, the light, fruity spirit growing rounder. Active wood frames the fruit without overwhelming the light Speyside spirit. A pioneer of wine cask finishing, Glen Moray has long layered fruit over its light malt. Its water is drawn from the River Lossie, which runs past the distillery at Elgin. It has been owned since 2008 by the French house La Martiniquaise.

Bottled at a cask strength 70%, it is rich. Baked apple, vanilla and a creamy toffee, with a soft vanilla from the oak. Soft orchard fruit and a creamy vanilla sit behind the cask. A long, fruity finish carries a green apple and a soft spice. This is Glen Moray's clean, accessible Speyside style.
